Prince, sporting an afro straight from his “For You” era, closed out the 2013 Billboard Music Awards on ABC last night (May 19) in royal fashion and as only he could – accepting the trade magazine’s Icon award with a performance, not a speech.
His Royal Badness, 54, rocked a ’60s look Woodstock look, complete with round sunglasses and a fringed jacket, as he began the set with a new arrangement of his 1984 hit “Let’s Go Crazy.”
Backing him was his new all-female band and proteges 3rd Eye Girl.
He then used the Edgar Winter Group’s classic riff from “Frankenstein” to move into his new rock song, “FIXURLIFEUP,” part of a new album rumored to be titled “Plectrum Electrum.”
