No Winner Again, So The Powerball Jackpot Is Now $1 Billion

For the 38th time in a row, there was no big winner in last night’s Powerball drawing. The jackpot for tomorrow night’s drawing is now $1 billion, which would give a single winner an estimated lump-sum cash payout of around $516.8 million.

Last night’s winning numbers were 5, 8, 9, 17, 41, and a Powerball of 21, with five tickets matching all five white balls to win $1 million prizes each in Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, New York, and Pennsylvania. The jackpot is now the third-largest in the history of the game.
