The artist formerly known as Kanye West, has sent a letter out asking to be formally addressed as Ye going forward.
He actually changed his named back in 2019, but hadn’t forcefully pushed to be addressed as Ye until now.
“He didn’t take the decision to change his name, potentially sacrificing some of the immense value captured by the brand ‘Kanye West,’ lightly,” the artist’s chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, wrote in the letter.
“The change was made fully, legally, and permanently. This is who he is now. His name is Ye.”
