Howard University is launching a new program to study racism. The university recently announced the appointment of Ibram X. Kendi as the director of its Institute for Advanced Study.
The university says the institute will engage thinkers and scholars worldwide to address deep and persisting inequities in technology, the environment, healthcare, education and the criminal justice system. Kendi is expected to begin the new position next semester.
