“Sinners” is set to have a special screening in the city where its set, Clarksdale, Mississippi. The town is pretty small, with just about 15-thousand people in it, and it doesn’t actually have a theater.
So people in the town that wanted to see "Sinners" had to drive an hour or more to Memphis to go see it! Now Mayor Chuck Espy says he’s been talking with Warner Bros., and a special all-day event is being planned so the townsfolk can see what all the hype is about!
While a date hasn’t been ironed out just yet, its looking like it will happen on Juneteenth (June 19), screening at the football field of Clarksdale High School. Stars from the movie like Michael B.
Jordan and Wunmi Mosaku as well as director Ryan Coogler could also stop by. “Sinners” has been a huge hit, raking in close to $240-million around the world in just a few weeks so far.
