Fireworks Injuries

Fireworks may be a staple of Independence Day but unfortunately so are injuries and deaths and they don't just happen on the 4th of July.

In 2024, over 14-thousand firework-related injuries were reported, most involving the hands, head, and ears. Eleven people were killed.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is hoping to turn things around with a reminder to the public to never let children play with fireworks, keep a bucket of water or a hose close by in case of a fire and carefully follow instructions on packaging when handling fireworks.
