FREEDOM WALK PARADE
(NOT A DEMONSTRATION – A FREEDOM WALK PARADE)
At 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 17, 2023, Jacksonville will initiate the 158th celebration of Juneteenth with the Freedom Walk Parade, J.P. Small Ball Park to 4th St. and Myrtle Avenue
The Freedom Walk is symbolic of the emancipated ex-enslaved blacks leaving the plantation in 1865 only to experience a neo-slavery existence. And the trek continued in the 1920s and 30s as more than 4 million blacks left the South by migrating to the West, Midwest, and the North to escape terrorism, lynching, and oppression. We have been on Freedom Road for 158 years.
Bring your entire family to commemorate Juneteenth and walk in the Freedom Walk Parade.
