DHS Sec: No Threat To Other Venues At This Time

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Elaine Duke is monitoring the tragedy in Las Vegas.  In a statement this morning, Duke said there was no information to indicate "specific, credible threats" to any other public venues in the country at this time.  She said Americans should, however, expect increased security in and around public places and events, as officials take additional precautions.

Duke said the Department of Homeland Security will work with federal, state, and local partners in responding to and investigating the tragedy.  Over 50 people died Sunday night during a concert on the Las Vegas Strip when the gunman opened fire into a crowd standing below the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
