'All My Children' Star John Callahan Dead At 66

All My Children star John Callahan has passed away. He was 66.

On Saturday (March 28), it was announced that Callahan, who was best known for his role as Edmund Grey in the long-running soap opera from 1992 to 2005, had died. As per his representative, Marv Dauer, the actor died of a stroke. Word of his death arrived when his ex-wife, Eva LaRue, who played his on-screen love interest, broke the news via Instagram. Callahan and La Rule wed in 1996, before getting divorced in 2004. The former couple have an 18-year-old daughter named Kaya.

"May flights of Angels Wing you to your rest my dear friend," the actress captioned the post. "Your bigger than life, gregarious personality will leave a hole in our hearts forever. We are devastated — my great friend, co-parent partner, and loving father to Kaya. That big belly laugh, bear hugs, bad puns, ability to harmonize and to song, great kitchen table singing-fests, and two stepping bad ass!"

"Kaya and I are beyond broken hearted, so stunned, sorry that my thoughts are a mess," she continued. "You gave the best most beautifully written tributes, and I am at a complete loss for words right now for you. I hope Heaven has baseball and that your team always wins! The Yankees has just lost their biggest Fan."
