Ghislane Maxwell Sentenced 20 Years In Prison For Sex Trafficking

Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison on Tuesday for her part in a years-long sex trafficking scheme with Jeffrey Epstein.

Maxwell apologized to the victims during her sentencing, saying “Jeffrey Epstein should have been here before all of you,” then adding “I am sorry for the pain that you’ve experienced.”

Judge Alison Nathan said that she was not “punished in place of Epstein,” but that she was being punished for “the role that she played.”

Her defense team plans to appeal the conviction; Maxwell will be taken to federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut. · Source: CNN
