Largest Drug Trafficking Bust in Flagler County History

They are calling it the biggest drug trafficking bust in Flagler County history.

The sheriff's office, FBI and prosecutors Monday announced that they have finished a fifteen month investigation dubbed "Operation Ice Man" that has resulted in eight arrests and the seizure of a fortune in drugs and guns.

The ring used commercial trucks to bring methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine from Mexico, Phoenix AZ and Los Angeles CA to Florida's north-central coast for sale.

Among the eight people arrested are a father and his two sons.

The number of law enforcement agencies involved and the time spent infiltrating the ring has U.S Attorney Roger Handberg hoping that the bust will send a message, "to anyone who illegally conspires to traffic in methamphetamine, cocaine or fentanyl in this community. As you can see from the law enforcement agencies on this case, you will be investigated."

All told, 45 kilograms of meth, 2.7 kilos of cocaine and fentanyl pills were seized, along with 18 guns and silencers.

Investigators say one suspect remains at large.

Six of the suspects face up to life in prison if convicted, the other two up to 40 years behind bars.
