Media Mogul Barry Diller Says Hollywood Could Collapse

Barry Diller, the chair of IAC and Expedia, told Margaret Brennan on yesterday’s “Face the Nation” that if Hollywood executives and the striking writers and actors don’t resolve their disputes quickly, it could “potentially produce an absolute collapse of an entire industry”

Diller suggests that there should be a “settlement deadline” of September 1st to avoid that outcome, and that top executives and top-paid actors could agree to a 25% pay cut to “narrow the difference” between the top and bottom earners in Hollywood

Diller was the CEO of Paramount Pictures for 10 years and 20th Century Fox for eight.
