Nas is bringing his talents to Broadway. The artist is reportedly working on turning the 1984 hip-hop movie ”Beat Street” into a musical stage adaptation along with other collaborators.
“Beat Street wasn’t just a film – it spread the revolution of hip-hop culture throughout the country and the world.
It left an indelible mark, inspiring generations of young artists and creating new hip-hop fans alike.
It’s a thrill for me to join the creative team of Beat Street,” Nas shared in a statement. The iconic movie follows the stories of a group of young artists in the South Bronx “as they pursued their dreams in the emerging hip-hop scene.
