The Tampa Bay Lightning (39-23-5) defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (28-33-8) 2-0 on Monday night in Philadelphia. The Lightning have now won two in a row, and have pulled within two points of the Florida Panthers for first place in the Atlantic Divsion.
Nikita Kucherov's goal in the first period would prove to be the game-winner - he added an assist on Jake Guentzel's late empty-netter that clinched the game. Andrei Vasilevskiy saved all 21 shots he faced in net to secure the shootout.
