Keith Sweat is back with some new music to close out the summer.
On Friday, September 5, the veteran R&B singer shared his new single "Working" featuring Nigerian artist Qing Madi. Sweat goes in a more upbeat direction than his previous work. The respected crooner and radio host delivers a heartfelt exploration of romance and persistence. He also embraces the delicate struggle of proving yourself to the one you love. The song features Qing Madi, who's one of Africa’s fastest-rising sirens. Her youthful, soulful tone blends seamlessly with Sweat’s beloved delivery. Together, they build a bridge that feels global yet deeply personal.
The generational blend of old-school R&B and new-age Afro-soul comes a year after Keith Sweat released his emotional hit "Lay You Down." Sweat debuted the passionate love song on Valentine's Day. It was the first solo track he had released since his collaboration with Raheem DeVaughn, "Can't Nobody."
“At this stage of my career, I make music that move me to say something," Sweat said about the collaboration at the time. "I am not interested in releasing music for the sake of statistics. I really became a fan of Raheem last year when we worked together and wanted to do a song with him.”
