A man was arrested on Wednesday (September 3) after being discovered living in the crawl space of a condo complex in unincorporated Clackamas County, Oregon. The man, identified as Beniamin Bucur, 40, from Forest Grove, was found with a bed, lights, and TVs in the crawl space. He faces charges of first-degree burglary and methamphetamine possession, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

The discovery was made after a witness noticed Bucur walking to the back of one of the buildings and entering the crawl space, which had a light coming from inside. The witness, not recognizing Bucur as a resident, contacted the sheriff's office. When deputies arrived, they found the crawl space door damaged and locked, with an extension cord running through a vent.

The building owner had previously reported hearing strange noises from the crawl space. Deputies breached the door after the owner's keys failed to work and found Bucur inside, along with various electronic devices plugged into the building's power supply. Bucur was also found with a pipe containing meth residue.

Bucur has a criminal history, including convictions for fourth-degree assault and harassment in 2022, second-degree theft and resisting arrest in 2019, and second-degree burglary in 2018. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday (September 4).
