Broward County's School Choice Open Enrollment window for the 2026/27 school year is open as of today.
With school choice, families are able to apply for a general reassignment, or a magnet program other than their home boundary assigned school.
Parents applying for School Choice must create a Focus Parent Portal Account. Parents with students new to the BCPS system can visit any district school to request a student number for the School Choice process. (a BCPS student number is required to apply.
BCPS says awards are not “first-come, first-served.” When there are more applicants than choice seats available, a computerized, random
selection will be held.
School Choice open enrollment ends December 19, 2025.
