Barack Obama is urging people to support his home state of Hawaii after the deadly wildfires in Maui.
On Instagram, the former President said he and Michelle Obama are heartbroken by the tragic wildfires and offered their thoughts and prayers to the people of Lahaina, where over 100 lives have been lost.
He added, however, "thoughts and prayers in a moment like this are not enough," and said people need to step up and help Lahaina rebuild.
On Monday, a telethon was held on local TV and radio stations to raise money for the Hawaii Red Cross, to support those affected by the fires.
