Michael, the biographical film about pop icon Michael Jackson, has crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, becoming the first biopic in history to reach the milestone.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Jaafar Jackson as his uncle, the Lionsgate release has become the highest-grossing biographical film ever, surpassing Oppenheimer.
The movie previously set records with a $97 million domestic opening weekend, the biggest debut ever for a music biopic.
