FLORIDA - Walmart shoppers in South Florida can expect a noticeably upgraded in-store experience later this year as the retail giant launches a major wave of store renovations across the region.
As part of a national initiative to modernize more than 650 stores across the United States, Walmart has confirmed that 34 stores in Florida are set to be remodeled, with several located in South Florida.
This effort is part of the company’s larger five-year, $1.6 billion investment strategy aimed at enhancing the look, feel, and functionality of its stores throughout the state.
While Walmart has not released the full list of which South Florida stores will undergo renovations, past remodeling efforts have typically focused on areas such as Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
The confirmed updates will take place at the following locations:
- Delray Beach - 3155 S Federal Hwy & 16205 S Military Trl
- Greenacres - 3911 S Jog Rd
- Hollywood - 301 S State Road 7
- Lake Worth - 4105 S State Road 7
- Margate - 5555 W Atlantic Blvd
- Miami - 6931 NW 88th Avenue, 3200 NW 79th St & 9191 W Flagler St
- Miramar - 1800 South University Drive
- Royal Palm Beach - 9990 Belvedere Rd
Updates are expected to include refreshed layouts, expanded product selections, wider pharmacy aisles, and enhanced technology for a smoother pickup and delivery experience.
Walmart says the goal is to create a more streamlined and convenient shopping experience by integrating modern features and upgraded services into stores that serve high-traffic, high-demand areas.
The remodels are expected to be completed in phases throughout 2025.
Florida remains one of Walmart’s most critical markets, with 387 retail locations and over 118,000 employees statewide.
The South Florida upgrades are part of a broader push to reinforce Walmart’s footprint in growing urban markets, while also meeting the evolving expectations of its customer base.
More information on specific store remodels is expected to be released in the coming months.
