Aventura, FL - A Florida woman was allegedly struck by a man in a red SUV during a first date at the Serena Hotel in Aventura.
According to an arrest report, the 28-year-old suspect arranged to meet the woman through the dating app Seeking last Sunday.
During the meeting, he allegedly asked to smell her feet and offered to purchase her used sneakers.
The woman reportedly requested $1,000 for the sneakers, which she would retrieve from her car.
The man allegedly refused the amount, prompting the woman to step into the hotel bathroom.
While inside, she heard him leave the room and feared he had taken something.
When she ran to the parking lot, the woman allegedly saw him driving a red Mercedes SUV.
Police say he passed her at first, then performed a three-point turn and struck her with the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The woman required immediate medical attention and suffered road rash and bruising on her back, arms, and chest.
The man was arrested on Thursday after attempting to book another room at the same hotel.
Court records indicate he has been charged with aggravated battery and pleaded not guilty during his arraignment.
In interviews, the woman described the incident as a serious escalation of an interaction related to a fetish.
