A budget showdown expected in Miami-Dade tonight during the first public hearing ahead of the first vote on the proposed twelve-point-nine-billion-dollar plan. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava says the county is no longer four-hundred million in the red, thanks to streamlining services and recovering unspent money. The fight over funding for the Sheriff's Office seems to be resolved as Levine Cava announced the office will be getting eighty-six of the ninety-four million requested. The second budget hearing is September 18th.
