Disney's "Lilo & Stitch" is riding a wave of success from its box office debut and helped set a record in the process.
The live action remake brought in an estimated 183-million-dollars over the Memorial Day period. That's the most ever for a Memorial Day Weekend release after passing 2022's "Top Gun Maverick", which brought 160-million over four days.
Meanwhile, Tom Cruise's "Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning" made 77-million-dollars over the four day period, and a franchise best 63-million-dollars over its first three days of release. Holdovers like "Final Destination Bloodlines", "Thunderbolts", and "Sinners" helped the overhaul holiday haul add up to 322-million across all movies in theaters, which is a record
