Jay-Z, along with Meek Mill, Big Sean, Fat Joe, Yo Gotti, and Killer Mike are in support of a new, New York State law that would prevent prosecutors from using song lyrics in court as evidence of alleged crimes. It’s not just rappers who are pushing for the new legislation, singers Kelly Rowland and Robin Thicke have also joined the cause. The artists have sent a letter to the New York Governor in support of the bill “Rap Music on Trial.” Earlier this week, the bill was moved forward by the Senate Codes Committee, so we’ll see what happens. Artists should be free to make their art without fear that it "can and will" be used against them in court.

In other news… “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams’s fiancé, Simon Guobadia, gave her a $398,000 Rolls Royce Ghost and then had to silence the haters after comments suggested that it’s the same car his ex-wife used to drive. Simon jumped into the comments on TheShadeRoom to set the record straight… he let everyone know that his ex-wife drove a Rolls Royce Dawn and Porsha’s gift is a Rolls Royce Ghost. That’s how you silence the haters, Simon! Porsha posted a picture showing off her new platinum exterior and orange interior Rolls Royce, with the caption, “The only way you win is if I quit.”
