Entertainment News: Diddy Court Update, Obama for Harris, Hurricane Milton

Sean "Diddy" Combs made his first court appearance yesterday after his arrest on September 16th in connection with a sex trafficking case. Wearing a beige jail jumpsuit, Diddy smiled at his son, King Combs, and hugged his legal team before taking his seat. His 84-year-old mother and six of his seven children were present in the courtroom, offering their support. The judge set a trial date for May 5th, with the prosecution expected to present their case over three weeks, while Diddy’s defense team anticipates just one week. Despite his legal team's latest request for bail, it was once again denied, and Diddy will remain at Brooklyn’s Metro Detention Center for the time being.

Meanwhile, former President Barack Obama hit the campaign trail last night to rally for Vice President Kamala Harris. Kicking off in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania—a critical battleground state—Obama delivered a powerful and electrifying speech. He didn’t hold back, taking aim at Donald Trump, labeling him a “selfish billionaire who cares only about his ego, money, and status.” Obama’s message to Pennsylvanians was clear: it’s time for the nation to turn the page and move forward.

On a somber note, Hurricane Milton made landfall Wednesday night as a Category 3 storm, crashing into Siesta Key, Florida, near Sarasota at around 8:30 PM. The storm's aftermath has been devastating, with at least 12 confirmed deaths, including six caused by tornadoes on Florida’s Atlantic coast. More than 3 million Florida residents are without electricity. In response, President Biden has deployed thousands of federal personnel to aid the affected areas. In a generous show of support, Taylor Swift donated $5 million to relief efforts for victims of both Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene, with other celebrities joining her in contributing to the cause.
