Blue Origin Sends All Female Crew to Space on Historic Flight

Blue Origin made history by launching its first all-female crew into space aboard the New Shepard rocket. The mission, called NS-31, lasted about 11 minutes and gave the six women a chance to experience weightlessness and see Earth from above.

The crew included:

Katy Perry: Pop superstar known for hits like "Firework."

Lauren Sánchez: Journalist, helicopter pilot, and fiancée of Jeff Bezos. She helped organize the mission.

Gayle King: CBS Mornings co-host and longtime journalist.

Aisha Bowe: Former NASA rocket scientist and founder of STEMBoard.

Amanda Nguyen: Civil rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee.

Kerianne Flynn: Film producer known for socially conscious projects.

This flight marked the first all-women space mission since 1963, when Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova flew solo. The launch took place in West Texas, and the capsule safely returned to Earth using parachutes.

The mission wasn't just about making history. The crew carried postcards from fans and participated in scientific experiments for universities and research groups. Their journey aims to inspire young girls and show that space is for everyone.

Supporters like Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner, and Khloé Kardashian attended the launch, cheering on the crew and celebrating this milestone in space exploration.
